Volunteers for FOSS4G in Boston

We are looking for up to 65 people to help us stay organized throughout the conference and ensure all workshops, presentations, and events run smoothly. Volunteers will be asked to attend a two hour training session and work a minimum of 12 hours throughout the conference. In exchange for their time, volunteers will have their registration fee reduced to $50 dollars (food coverage).

Research Assistant Position for Mapping Electricity in Africa Project

The Economics Department at Tufts University (Medford, MA) is seeking a short run RA to assist with the development of maps to visualize spatial data on electricity in Africa. Responsibilities will include combining data sources, creating maps to visualize the resulting datasets, formatting maps at different spatial scales. Minimal data manipulation / no data analysis required. The main work will involve map creation from existing data files. Payment will be hourly and the job is expected to last approximately two weeks part time or one week full time between June 12 and June 22.
