Kai Cao

Visiting Fellow

Dr. Kai Cao is Postdoctoral Associate in World History Center, working on World Historical Dataverse project at University of Pittsburgh. He has a B.S. in Geography (Cartography and Geographic Information Science) from Nanjing University in China, a M.Phil. in Geography (Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Science) from Nanjing University in China, and a Ph.D. in Geography from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR. Before joining World History Center, Kai had worked in the Center for Geographic Analysis, Harvard University as a Visiting Research Fellow and in the Department of Geography, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, he was also a Visiting Scholar and Spatial Consultant in spatial@ucsb at UCSB. Currently, his research interests center on the applications of GIScience on social science and historical research.
