Guibo SUN is a PhD candidate of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests focus on the influence of built environment on walking behavior. In his PhD thesis, two empirical studies are designed. 1) A longitudinal empirical design in a controlled environment with socioeconomic homogenous respondents that experiencing the change of built environment (Data survey and pilot study has been conducted). 2) An empirical study with respondents selected from neighborhoods close to transit-oriented stations (TOD) in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The physical built environment, internal psychological factors, interventional factors, and residential socioeconomic status simultaneously will be examined and wish to provide a complete picture of disparities in built environment of Chinese neighborhoods and significant insights into the factors that influence walking behavior. During the visit of IQSS, he will work with Dr. Nicolas Oreskovic and Dr. Wendy Guan in the project that related to his PhD thesis.
