Yongqin is a visiting fellow at CGA from Fudan University. He is a PhD candidate in the institute of historical geography at Fudan. He has a bachelor degree in statistics and a research interest on quantitative historical analysis, including historical GIS analysis and economic history. His project work at CGA is to build a database of fiscal and tax system in Qing dynasty China, and map it to the China Historical GIS (CHGIS). In addition, he is interested in antique topographic maps, cadastral maps, and landscape paintings. His research endeavor is to build upon textual criticism, apply quantitative methods, and integrate CHGIS with qualitative-verified digitalized databases in order to engage a dialogue between economic history and geography.
